PAN-Alpha held its sports fest event on September 3, 2013 for the applicants and the members. The games were played in the parking lot of the College of Home Economics. The primary objective of the event is to promote fitness and nutrition. The secondary objective is to promote teamwork and camaraderie among the applicants and members.
The members and applicants were divided into 4 groups before the games started. It was made sure that the members and the applicants were equally distributed into the different groups. Several games were prepared for the members and the applicants. The major games, Sack Race and Catch the Dragon’s Tail had much participation. The members and applicants formed 2 big groups for each game. The goal of the sack race is for all the members of each group to hop in a sack to the finish line. The first group to finish will be the winner. On the other hand, for the catch the dragon’s tail, each group will form one line and must be linked to each other. The goal of the game is to get the egg attached behind the last person in the line or break apart the line to get points. The group with the most number of points wins.
After a few hours of playing, finally, the winners of the game were decided. The event was indeed successful. The games promoted physical activity and fitness as the members and applicants competitively raced their way to the finish line and grab the egg attached to the tail of the opposing group. Teamwork and cooperation were evident in each of the groups and closer relationships were built among members and applicants as they were able to interact with each other while carefully planning their strategies and communicating with each other. The skills and talents of the applicants were seen as each of them gave their best in the games.
